Screen-based digital media (like smartphones, computers, tablets, tv, movies, video games) can help you live your best life, but taking charge of your own use is a skill that takes practice. The Family Media Check-In will help make sure screens are working for you and your family. It has two steps:
Step 1: Check-In with yourself. Learn about screens and think through your own screen use—what’s working well for you and what could be improved. Everyone does this by themselves. Get started by choosing your role below.
Step 2: Check-In with each other Your family will set goals and learn how to support each other in using screens in ways that are healthy and safe.
The Family Media Check-In was developed by pediatricians and researchers at Seattle Children's Hospital to help families with teens have better conversations about screen use.
